This song celebrates Charles Fredrick Bosel, who was born Maryborough, 31st January 1891, into a large family of German migrants. Charles enlisted to fight in World War 1, in September 1915. He was sent to Egypt first, then to the front line in France with the 15th Infantry Battalion. He was wounded in action near Boulogne, 16th October, 1916, and died in the Boulogne General Hospital, 26th October 1916. Dedicated to Charles Fredrick Bosel, my great, great uncle, and other family members who served in both World Wars.
